Stewart Mitchell - Career Summary
Stewart Mitchell has spent the last 25 years in Senior Executive and Consulting roles, in both the private and public sectors with a particular emphasis on Human Resource, and Strategic Consulting over the past 20 years.
Stewart was a founder Director and Shareholder in Cowles Mitchell Beadon, the South Island's largest broad-based human resource, employment law and strategic consultancy practice, and prior to that its predecessor firm, Cowles Notley Ltd. When Cowles Mitchell Beadon was sold to TMP worldwide in November 1999, he managed TMP's Consulting Practice, but continued to consult across all aspects of the business. He is now a Director and Shareholder in Mitchell Notley & Associates Ltd and was a founding director of Brannigans Human Capital Ltd (now sold).
Stewart has had considerable experience in dealing with Councils and Boards of Directors across a broad range of industries, with particular emphasis on change and reform in Local, Regional and Central Government, State Owned Enterprises and the agricultural sector. Stewart has been involved in Senior and Chief Executive selection and search assignments, as well as the management of some of New Zealand's largest Redundancy, Staff Assistance, and Change Management programmes. Stewart has also been involved in advising on and implementing sophisticated remuneration systems including the design of Performance Management and Performance Pay applications.
He now spends most of his time outside of directorships working with and advising boards and councils on governance issues.
